BAU Hosts a University Level Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition

The Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research at Beirut Arab University organized the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, at Ali Rashed Hall. The highly engaging event featured nineteen talented participants from the Faculties of Science, Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences, who presented their research in less than three minutes using a single slide - effectively communicating complex topics to a broad audience. The BAU research committee members served as the jury in this competition.

Competition Winners and Their Research Topics:

1. First Place ($300)

Mayyas Othman (Faculty of Health Sciences)

Project Title: Optimization of polyphenol extraction from Rooibos Tea and analysis of their bioactive properties

2. Second Place ($200)

Zeina Omeiche (Faculty of Pharmacy)

Project Title: Phytochemical analysis of Ononis natrix, a medicinal plant native to Lebanon

3. Third Place ($100)

Jana Najjar (Faculty of Health Sciences)

Project Title: Safety evaluation of commercial pet food in Lebanon through microbiological and chemical contaminant analysis

4. People's Choice Award ($100)

Lynn Hamze (Faculty of Medicine)

Project Title: Investigation of imposter syndrome prevalence and its correlation with resilience among Lebanese university students.
