09 January 2026Beirut Arab University hosted a full-house workshop entitled: “Best Practices in Research” on Friday, 9 January at Ali Rashed Hall.
The session highlighted BAU’s latest research and publication updates aligned with national accreditation requirements and international ranking standards, including the shift toward Scopus as the primary recognized database and the importance of prioritizing discipline-specific Scopus fields for benchmarking and ranking accuracy.
The workshop also acknowledged the President’s continued support of research incentives, announcing enhanced recognition for high-impact publishing, especially journals ranked in the top 10th percentile within their Scopus subject field, alongside the integration of a mandatory AI section and patent reporting in the updated publication submission forms. In addition, BAU’s research performance trends (2019–2024) were presented, showing +54% growth in publications, increasing momentum in open access, expanding global collaboration, and strong alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing BAU’s commitment to research quality, transparency, innovation, and global visibility.
