Department of Psychology
The Psychology Department seeks to advance the discipline of psychology as an area of scholarly, professional, and scientific endeavour. The primary focus of the Department is to promote and maintain high quality education, research and community services in the fields of psychology. The Department offers comprehensive educational programs through a variety of teaching/learning methodologies, a laboratory, and field training which are culturally and ethically sensitive. Our programs seek to prepare students for lifelong self-education and participation in an increasingly diverse society. Graduates of the Department are able to function effectively in specific careers within psychology including teaching, research as well as clinical, industrial and social services. Our mission is to develop educated individuals who are competitive in both top quality graduate programs and the job market.
