Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Amr Gala Adawi, President of Beirut Arab University, the Faculty of Medicine held the Medical Students Research Award, On the 8th of February 2018,  an annual event that serves as final showcase for Medical students research projects completed in during the preclerkship phase. Out of fourteen research projects, five were nominated by the Faculty research committee research to compete during an oral presentation in front of an external jury. Topics were related to community health and medical education.
The Award was granted to the research project entitled ‘ Perceptions of Medical students toward Biostatistics’ conducted by Nivine Abou Dorgham, Omar Mourad, Youssef Sultan, Mariam Baydoun and Omar Abou El Hosn, and mentored by Prof. Dr Azza Abou El Naga and Dr. Bilal Azakir.
At the end of the event, Prof. Dr. Naglaa Mashaal, Dean of the Faculty, presented the medals, certificates and gifts to the winner junior researchers
