In order to meet the International Academic Standards, and strengthen the quality assurance process within its educational programme, the Faculty of Medicine has established an internal auditing system in the form of Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) in December 2009.

The faculty adopted the international academic standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), and started to disseminate awareness about these standards among faculty members, students and employees. These Standards are acting through broad components in the structure, process and outcome of medical education in different areas:

  • Mission and Objectives
  • Educational Programme
  • Assessment of Students
  • Students
  • Academic Staff/Faculty
  • Educational Resources
  • Programme Evaluation
  • Governance and Administration
  • Continuous Renewal
