The faculty of Medicine organized a symposium entitled " Malpractice in Medicine" on 5/12/2025, featuring distinguished experts who enriched the discussion with their knowledge and experience. Prof. Wafaa Al-Sahli, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Professor of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, presented an overview of medical malpractice. Prof. Mohammad Walid Abdul Rahim, Dean of the Faculty of Law & Political Sciences, addressed physician responsibility in Lebanese law and jurisprudence. Dr. Mohammad Hasbini, Obstetrics and gynecology specialist and Head of the Investigations Committee at the Order of Physicians, discussed common malpractice cases and lessons learned in Lebanese hospitals. Lawyer Mr Michel Richa, legal advisor in the Medical Ethics Department at the Lebanese Order of Physicians, provided valuable legal insights. Dr. Marwa Dergham, lecturer of Law, concluded with the role of digital justice in organizing physician civil liability for defective medications.
