Professor Najlaa Moustafa Mashaal, Chairman Internal Medicine Department & Head of Quality Assurance and Medical Education Unit at Faculty of Medicine, Beirut Arab University was rewarded Khalifa Award for Distinguished University Professor in the Field of Teaching for the year 2012/2013 . An official award distribution ceremony was held on April 15 at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The Award is an educational one founded by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates. It includes all categories of those working in the field of education in the Emirates and in the Arab World. The award recognizes excellence in the field of education of individuals, schools and institutions. The prizes were created to raise educational standards across Arab countries, and the award also strives to encourage all institutions to elevate the general perception about teaching to one associated with prestige.
