Dr. Rola Sammoura is an Assistant Professor in the Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management Department at Beirut Arab University (BAU), with over 16 years of academic and engineering experience. She also serves as Manager of the Water Distribution Division at South Lebanon Water Establishment (SLWE), where she has worked since 2010. Her expertise combines engineering management, water operations, and public-sector management. She has strengthened BAU’s industry engagement through student internships and real-world applications. Her research focuses on non-revenue water, water management, sustainability, and public-sector development.

Dr. Rola Sammoura’s research focuses on sustainable and efficient water management, with particular interest in reducing non-revenue water, improving water distribution systems, optimizing operational performance, and strengthening resource efficiency. Her research also examines sustainability challenges and innovative solutions in the water sector, with the aim of supporting evidence-based decision-making and contributing to the development and modernization of public-sector water utilities.

Dr. Rola Sammoura holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Beirut Arab University (2008), an ME in Engineering Management from the American University of Beirut (2003), and a BE in Civil Engineering from Beirut Arab University (1999). She is an Assistant Professor and a Certified International Trainer in Human Development Skills.

Dr. Rola Sammoura’s teaching areas focus on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, with emphasis on Engineering Economy, Project Management and Planning, Management of Global Operations, Quantitative Methods for Decision-Making, Engineering Statistics, and Total Quality Management. Her teaching integrates analytical methods, optimization, project scheduling, and real-world engineering applications, particularly in water management and infrastructure operations.

Dr. Rola Sammoura received the Hariri Foundation Academic and Distinguished Graduation Award successively from 1995–1999, the Jamal Abed Nasser Distinguished Graduation Award from BAU in 1999, the Beirut Arab University Distinguished Award from 1997–1999, the Student of the Year Award in 1999, and the Ibrahim Abedelall Award in 1998.
