Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Information and Communication Engineering at Beirut Arab University (BAU), with over 12 years of teaching experience across universities in Lebanon and abroad. I also bring over 7 years of industry experience with Orange France, Ekinops France, and Mobinets Lebanon, specializing in optical communications, microwave systems, and software engineering. I have contributed to several European research projects and received the Gold Award for Innovation and Excellence for the EO-Net project. My research interests include optical communications, nanophotonics, and THz communications.

Research Interests

My research focuses on high-speed optical communications, particularly coherent transmission, signal processing, and energy-efficient networks. I also investigate nanophotonics and graphene-enhanced plasmonic biosensors for biomedical applications. My research in wireless communications covers THz and mmWave systems, channel modeling, wireless body area networks, and emerging 6G technologies, including reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS).

Education & Qualifications

- Ph.D., Communication Systems, IMT-Atlantique - France, 2011 - M.E., Communication Systems, Ecole National d’Ingénieur de Brest – France, 2007 - B.E., Communications and Computer Engineering, Lebanese University – Faculty of Engineering, 2007

Teaching Areas

My teaching expertise covers communication systems, information theory, cellular communications, and digital signal and image processing. It also includes electromagnetics, antennas, microwave networks, electric circuits, electronics, digital systems, instrumentation, and programming. I teach foundational courses in linear algebra, differential equations and physics, as well as graduate courses in research methodology and advanced communication systems.
