As part of the continuous collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy at BAU and the Makhzoumi Foundation, an awareness campaign targeting hypertension was conducted on December 16, 2024. This initiative aimed to enhance pharmacy students' training through the Foundation's healthcare services while addressing community health needs. Senior pharmacy students from BAU led the campaign at the Makhzoumi Foundation Primary Health Care Center, focusing on hypertensive patients. The campaign featured educational sessions covering hypertension risk factors, potential complications, treatment options, and preventive strategies, alongside interactive training that taught participants proper blood pressure measurement techniques. Participants were also provided with free blood pressure monitoring devices to encourage regular self-monitoring and better management of their hypertension. The campaign was supervised by Dr. Reem Awad, a clinical pharmacist at the Makhzoumi Foundation, along with Dr. Mohamad Abdallah, Clinical Instructor, and Dr. Samar Karout, Clinical Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy. This Initiative reflects the Faculty’s commitment to fostering practical education while addressing critical community health needs.
