In the frame of enhancement of students’ skills and in alignment with the faculty strategy of preparing competent pharmacists, the pharmacy practice department organized first aid training sessions for fifth level pharmacy students in collaboration with Lebanese Red Cross (LRC).

Under the slogan “Every Citizen is a First Aid”, the LRC trainer, Mr. Mohammaad Harakeh, delivered scheduled training sessions. The sessions aimed to develop knowledge and skills related to first aid in order to enable the students to perform the adequate acts required on the onset of accidents and provide care for patients suffering from acute hemorrhage, fractures, shocking and burn in addition to basic life support and cardio pulmonary resuscitation techniques.

The training sessions were highly interactive and students participated in the demonstration of the various first aid procedures and techniques.

‘The first aid training sessions were informative, joyful, and taught me how to act later in emergency situations’ quoted Ahmad AL Tawil.
‘The training was very beneficial and I wish I could attend it every year because of the great value it added to me as a future community pharmacist and a primary care provider’ quoted Rayan Jbaily.
