Dr. Gamal Megahed, Assistant Professor at the Mass Communication Department, Faculty of Arts, BAU, together with a number of professors at the Lebanese University and Turkish universities, participated in a seminar entitled “A Reading of the Arab Spring: Obstacles of Change”. The seminar was held as part of the cultural events organized at the Beirut International Book Fair 2012. Dr. Gamal Megahed contributed reflections on the obstacles that face the Egyptian Revolution, outlining these in three main points: the crisis of the elite and the absence of a culture of democracy; the media in the wake of the revolution between freedom and responsibility; and the regional and international stance towards the Egyptian Revolution.
