Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering

Petroleum engineering stands at the forefront of energy exploration and extraction, tapping into the vast potential hidden beneath the Earth's surface. Petroleum remains the world's dominant energy source, powering transportation, heating, and various industries. As the global population thrives, the demand for efficient energy solutions grows, making petroleum engineers crucial players in securing energy independence and economic stability. The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering launched his Petroleum Engineering program in 2013, it is the FIRST engineering department in Lebanon that awards a BE in petroleum Engineering. Through this program, you'll journey into the world of: Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Production Engineering and Enhanced Oil Recovery by applying mathematics, geology, physics, and chemistry and all of the engineering sciences to the discovery, development, production, and transportation of petroleum.

Driven by market demand, the department launched the Chemical Engineering program in 2016. Chemical Engineering is a dynamic and multifaceted discipline that applies the principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biology to design, optimize, and manage chemical processes. It's about transforming raw materials into valuable products we use every day, from plastics and fuels to pharmaceuticals and food. But its reach extends far beyond that, encompassing cutting-edge areas like nanotechnology, biotechnology, and environmental engineering. Chemical engineers are in high demand across various industries, including: chemicals and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, plastics, pesticides and herbicides, pulp and paper , lime and cement, fertilizers, Environmental consulting and many others.
