Biography
I received my Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of Lyon I in 2008. After that, I was employed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris VI) in 2009 and at the University of Littoral Côte d’Opale in 2010. I served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Beirut Arab University from February 2011 to July 2015, and I have been an Associate Professor there since August 2015. Additionally, I served as the Director of the Faculty of Science (Tripoli Campus) from December 2019 to August 2024. I have published more than 33 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Research Interests
My research interests focus on the plasmonics of metallic nanostructures, ranging from single nanoparticles to ensembles. The optical properties of nanoparticles are dominated by their Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR), which depends closely on nanoparticle size, shape, and dielectric environment, as well as chemical composition in composite systems and interparticle distance in agglomerated nanoparticles. The extinction cross-sections are calculated using Finite Element Method (FEM).
