Faculty’ students actively participated in several prestigious national and international competitions, achieving notable successes:
- Hassan Kamal Dhaini, Ph.D. student from the department of Biological Sciences was awarded the best STEM lesson Award in Dubai.
- Wassef Hijazi, a second-year student from the department of Mathematics & Computer Science (Tripoli campus), won the Second place in the Cloud Computing Track during Huawei ICT competition in Lebanon and Bahrain and is gearing up for the global finals in Shenzhen, China. This competition aimed to provide students with a platform to exchange ideas to enhance their ICT knowledge and practical skills and increase their ability to innovate using new technologies.
- Two students, Nour Assoum and Karim Al Jundi, from the department of Mathematics & Computer Science (Tripoli campus), won the Second and Third places in the Lebanese Universities Chess Championship.
- The students Mohammad karim Abo Hosa, Ali Sarawan, Layal Shakhashiro and Moustafa Jarjour achieved the Third place in the competitive programming Devathon competition (GDSC) hosted by Balamand University on November 25th, 2023.
- Students from the Mathematics & Computer Science department, coached by Dr. Julie Bu Daher and Dr. Mahmoud Skafi, Assistant professors of Computer Science, participated in the Lebanese Collegiate Programming Contest (LCPC 2023), held on September 8th, 2023 at the American University of Beirut (AUB), as a local qualifying contest to the regional ACPC.
