BAU Students Shine at the 2026 Lebanese Collegiate Programming Contest, with One Team Qualifying for the ACPC

Beirut Arab University participated in the 18th Lebanese Collegiate Programming Contest, Lebanon’s qualifying round for the International Collegiate Programming Contest, at the American University of Beirut. The competition brought together 40 teams from more than ten universities across Lebanon.

BAU was represented by three teams of Computer Science students: “jinxed” (Youssof Kabbani, Majd Ghali, and Mahmoud Othman) and “How R You?” (Rama Itani, Haifa Sidani, and Yosr Najjar) from the Beirut Campus, and “Error” (Ghaith Okab, Majed Sasa, and Amen Zaher) from the Bekaa Campus. The students were coached by Ms. Lynn Arwadi, Graduate Assistant at BAU, under the supervision of the LCPC Committee, jointly led by Dr. Bilal Nakhal and Dr. Mohammad Al Saleh, who oversaw the students’ training and preparation for the competition.

Team “jinxed” qualified for the Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship, where it will compete against leading teams from across Africa and the Arab region.

This achievement reflects a full academic year of dedicated training during 2025–2026.
