Second year Medical Laboratory Technology student Mariam Mohammad from the faculty of Health Sciences was chosen from 3000 applicants from the MENA region to attend MEPI Students Leaders program in the United States of America. Mariam spent her summer from 27th of June till 31st of July in Portland State University, USA. There, she was assigned every week a different course. The three courses were: conflict resolution, leadership and democratic studies. Through her stay there, she did an externship at volunteers of America for a week. Moreover, she worked on developing her Civic Engagement Plan which she will implement back in Lebanon. Mariam had a very fruitful trip and Once in a lifetime experience.
