First year Medical Laboratory Technology student ‘Mariam Mohammad’ was selected among other 60 university-level students chosen from all over Lebanon to participate in the Middle East's first World Health Organization simulation event “LebWHO” that was held at the Higher Institute of Public Health (ISSP) of USJ, on 25-27 January, 2019.

LebWHO is a three-day event, which replicates the World Health Assembly (WHA) of the World Health Organization. The Simulation is complemented by lectures from notable guest speakers, which further participants’ understanding of Global Health issues. Participants undertook in-depth training sessions that focused on global health issues and international diplomacy, that equipped them with the tools necessary to make the most out of the simulation. At the end of the event, students drafted a draft resolution about “Mental Health” which will be given to the Ministry of Public health and may be adopted by them.
