Transfer Students

Undergraduate

A student may transfer to one of the University's faculties from recognized higher education institutions. The Faculty Council decides which courses the student could be exempted from in coordination with the Department of Student Affairs.

Admission To Fall 2025-2026

  • Exam date: Saturday, March 1st , 2025
  • Submission of applications: Starting Monday, December 2nd, 2024
  • Deadline: Wednesday, February 26th , 2025
  • The student should already have successfully passed two academic semesters at least (for the Scientific Faculties). Otherwise, the transferring student has to pass the required admission exams and join BAU as a first year student. Credits earned before can be transferred after admission has been decided.
  • The student has the right to enroll in the faculty from which she/he is transferring.
  • The student must prove his/her English Language proficiency by sitting a placement test conducted by the University or by obtaining a minimum score on any of the equivalent tests.
  • The student should meet the requirements set by the faculty (if any).

Based on the recommendations of the department and the faculty councils, in coordination with the Student Affairs Department, and upon the University Council’s approval, the student is exempted from courses previously taken in another university or faculty provided that:

  • The transferred courses are comparable in scientific content and in the number of credits to the BAU courses which are required to attain the desired degree.
  • The student has already passed these courses with a GPA not less than C or its equivalent percentage in the yearly system.
  • General knowledge courses can be transferred from other universities, without being compared with equivalent BAU University Elective courses, as long as their credit count does not exceed 50% of the required BAU University Elective credits.
  • Whether completed at BAU or at any other university, the course(s) completion date(s) must not exceed 5 years, otherwise an interview has to be conducted with the student.
  • The total transferred credit hours should not exceed 50% of the total number of credit hours required to obtain the relevant major degree.
  • A certified copy of the Single Civil Status Record (for Lebanese applicants only).
  • A photocopy of the identity card or passport (for non-Lebanese applicants only).
  • A recent passport-size photo.
  • A certified copy of the Lebanese Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
  • A certified copy of the updated official university transcript.
  • A certified copy of detailed course description.
  • English Language proficiency proof (the student may be asked to sit a placement test conducted by the University or by obtaining a minimum score on any of the equivalent tests).
  • Non-refundable application fee of $30.

Important Note: University transcript should be authenticated from the ministry of Education of the originating country and the Lebanese ministry of education and higher education.

Postgraduate

Based on the proposal of the Department and the recommendation of the Faculty Council, in coordination with the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Research, and upon the approval of the University Council, it is allowed to transfer courses that the student has previously studied and succeeded in, at any other recognized universities according to the following conditions:

  • The transferred courses should be equivalent to the courses of the relevant program and are required to get the degree according to the rules that govern courses transfer.
  • The student has already passed these courses with a minimum of “C+” or its percentage equivalent in the yearly system.
  • The total number of credit hours of the transferred courses should not exceed 30% of the total credit hours for courses needed to obtain the degree.
  • It is not allowed to transfer courses that the student has studied at another recognized university more than 5 years ago.

General Required Documents for Diploma & Master's admissions

  • A certified copy of the Lebanese Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent.
  • Official Bachelor’s Degree Certificate.
  • Official Bachelor’s Degree Transcript.
  • Official Equivalence of the Bachelor’s Degree obtained from the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education or a receipt from the MEHE confirming that the student has applied for equivalency of the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Original Single Civil Status Record (for Lebanese applicants only).
  • A copy of the identity card or passport (for non-Lebanese applicants only).
  • A recent passport-size photo endorsed by the relevant authorities.
  • English Language Proficiency Test Scores (if applicable).
  • Non-refundable application fee of $50.
  • Master courses description
  • Transcript showing the grades of the undertaken Master courses

Additional Documents for PHD admissions

  • Official Master's Degree certificate.
  • Official Master's Degree transcript
  • Official Equivalence of the Master’s Degree obtained from the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education or a receipt from the MEHE confirming that the student has applied for equivalency of the Master's degree.
  • A copy of the Master's Thesis.
  • PhD courses description
  • Transcript showing the grades of the undertaken PhD courses

Supporting Documents (depending on the program)

  • 2 recommendation letters (for Pharmacy & Health Sciences).
  • 1 recommendation letter and a Training Program Certificate (for Medicine).
  • 1-2 recommendation letters (for Science).
  • National Colloquium Examination (For Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry & some Health Sciences programs).
  • 3-years Work Experience Certificate or Completion of one-year internship (for Dentistry).
  • 2-years Work Experience Certificate after obtaining the Bachelor's degree (for MBA).
  • 5-years Work Experience Certificate (for DBA, after finishing 2 years MBA).

* All submitted documents will become the property of BAU regardless of the admissions decision.

* Some Faculties may request additional documents according to their internal Bylaws.
