Hassan M. K. ABDEL-SALAM is Professor of Architecture and Environmental Design – Currently Dean of Faculty of Architecture, Design and Built Environment, Beirut Arab University- Lebanon since 2023, having previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Architectural Engineering from 2007 to 2011. He is Former Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University from 2018-2022.

He holds positions as academic consultant, advisor, and external examiner at other universities / institutions in Egypt and Lebanon, developing a broad experience in the field of education of Architecture, Urbanism, and Environmental Sustainability. He is engaged in focused research with particular interest in Contemporary Architectural and Planning Trends, Environmentalism and Contextualism. He also serves on editorial boards and as referee for regional & international publications

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Alexandria University, a Master of Science from Alexandria University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford Brookes University, UK. A Professor in Architecture and Environmental Design since September 2005.

He teaches several courses of Architectural Design, Theory of Architecture, Criticism, Urban Planning, Housing, Design Economics and Sustainability. He participates in several Academic Development and Quality Assurance programs.

With extensive leadership expertise, his academic journey encompasses decades of higher education in architecture, urban planning, and environmentalism, alongside nominations as an academic advisor, external examiner, and lead evaluator for international validations of educational program across the region.
