Interior Design has grown rapidly in the past few years in terms of professional design offices and companies, who are investing financially and in terms of human creative development; new job opportunities are opening in such career-oriented settings who are creating new job opportunities.
The program's graduates will be able to design various physical environments including residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, office, retail, entertainment, exhibit, educational and industrial facilities; that combine functionality, sustainability, health, and wellbeing addressed by aesthetic values. They will be able to produce interior designs and furnishings, perform cost analyses and bill of quantities (BOQs), create shop drawings, choose the materials to be used, and specify furniture pieces.
They will also be able to supervise the manufacturing process and quality control on construction sites and in factories. Additionally, graduates will be able to inter the research field concerned with new technologies like parametric design, 3D printing, digital fabrication and virtual visualization to improve the quality and concept of the produced interior design. Furthermore, they will be able to interact with set design for stage performances or film and television productions.
