Aim
This event features webinars on modern cybersecurity from the educational and technical perspectives. The event comprises three main tracks and a panel discussion. The tracks are cybersecurity in higher education, cybersecurity in research, and cybersecurity in industry. The event is part of the project ELEGANT that aims at enhancing teaching and learning and graduate employability through university-enterprise cooperation.
Scope
Cybersecurity Topics: Data security, software security, hardware security, component security, connection security, system security, human security, organizational security, societal security, blockchain, crosscutting concepts, integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence, and multidisciplinary aspects.
Cybersecurity in Higher Education: Integration in science and engineering education, programs and curricula, accreditation, modern courses, design courses, pedagogy, etc.
Cybersecurity in Industry: Modern security technologies and services, enterprise security, disaster recovery and continuity, etc.
Cybersecurity in Government: E-government, sensitive data for the public good, standards, laws, etc.
Cybersecurity in Business and Finance: Digital transformation, financial services, e-business, banking, etc.
Cybersecurity in Health Informatics: Clinical, medical, public health, consumer health, nursing, dental, nutrition, pharmacy, biomedical, and healthy aging informatics.

Dr. Soubhi Abou Chahine, Beirut Arab University, Lebanon
Dr. Sobhi Abou Chahine Joined Beirut Arab University (BAU) in 1994, where he is currently a Professor in the Electrical & Computer Engineering and the dean of student affairs.
He is member of the technical academic committee at the ministry of Education and Higher Education since 2002, which studies the higher education institution files for licensing, audit, and recognition of degrees.
He participated in many international projects relevant to higher education reform and quality assurance.
In addition, Professor Abou Chahine was an advisor of the minister of Education and Higher Education between 2010 and 2014.

I am currently a course leader for MSc Computer Science (Computer Networks and Security) at Staffordshire University. In addition I have been a course leader for MSc Cyber Security. I am a member of the university's Cisco teaching team and a qualified CISCO instructor. I also work with our international partners in China and Malaysia.

Dr. Marco Baldi, Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy
Marco Baldi is an Associate Professor of Telecommunications at the Polytechnic University of Marche, where he also coordinates the local node of the CINI Cybersecurity National Laboratory and takes part in the Research and Service Center for Privacy and Cybersecurity (CRiSPY). He is co-author of over 150 scientific articles and one book, and holds four patents. His research interests are focused on cybersecurity, with special interest in coding and cryptography for information security and reliability.

Issam W. Damaj, received his PhD in Computer Science in the area of hardware design from London South Bank University, London, UK, 2004. He received an ME in Computer and Communications Engineering from the American University of Beirut, 2001, and a BE in Computer Engineering from Beirut Arab University (BAU) in 1999. Currently, he is an Associate Professor with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, BAU. Ramzi A. Haraty is an associate professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Lebanon. He is the chairperson of the Arab Computer Society. He is also a program evaluator (PEV) for CSAB/ABET. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Minnesota State University - Mankato, Minnesota, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from North Dakota State University - Fargo, North Dakota. His research interests include database management systems, artificial intelligence, and multilevel secure systems engineering.

Dr. Ashraf Zaher, American University of Kuwait, Kuwait
Dr. Ashraf Zaher is a professor at the American University of Kuwait. He has two Ph.Ds in systems engineering and control engineering from Oakland Universities, MI, USA. He also worked as an Associate Professor in Kuwait University, and as a consultant and programmer with both General Motors and Valeo Automotive, MI, USA. He participated in many projects, received many grants, and has plenty of publications in both international journals and conferences. His research interests include virtual engineering, nonlinear dynamics, hybrid signal processing, engineering physics, chaos, and engineering education.

Joanna Moubarak is a cybersecurity researcher, a peer reviewer and a lecturer at USJ and USEK. Currently, she is heading Potech Labs and Potech Academy. She holds a Master degree in Network and Systems Security and a PhD in "Computer Science and Networks" from Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ).
Dr. Moubarak has worked in multiple cybersecurity domains overseeing different security solutions and her research studies deal with networks security, malware analysis and Blockchain.

Telecom professional with 18 years of experience, he graduated in 1999 from Beirut Arab University with a BS in Electrical Engineering Computers, and then he completed his Masters in Computer Engineering from KFUPM in KSA by 2002. He started his career in Huawei from 2002 to 2005 and then he moved to Ericsson. Since 2008 he has worked with Cisco and today he is leading Cisco Saudi Customer experience delivery for major regional service providers.

Dr Iraj Hashi is Emeritus Professor of Economics at Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent, United Kingdom where he has worked since 1978. He also has a part time appointment as Professor of Economics and Assistant Coordinator of the ELEGANT project at the University of Dubrovnik, Croatia. He has a long history of working on European projects going back to early 1990s. He has previously worked with the Lebanese universities in the framework of the Tempus Project ASPIRE involving Beirut Arab University and Modern University for Business and Sciences.

Professor Bassem Kaissi is currently the Vice President for International Affairs at the Modern University for Business and Science in Lebanon. He has over 20 years of experience in human resource strategy consulting and as a higher education consultant and expert. He speaks and consults throughout the Arab & European countries on a variety of higher education and management topics. Professor kaissi coordinated and participated in more than 50 research, capacity building and mobility projects funded by the EU, World Bank, AUF, and UNESCO.

Dr. Joumana Dargham is an associate professor at the university of Balamand and the vice president of the syndicate of computer science in Lebanon. She is involved in activities related to building entrepreneurial skills among students and faculty members, building the bridge between the industry and the academia and what are the scientific practices organized in a good process that help reaching good products. Her research interests fall into software engineering in general and more particularly software processes and best practices, software quality assurance, development methodologies and software assessment. She has supervised many final year projects where some of these projects won prizes as good start-up ideas and she served as a jury member in different national and international contests.
