The Public Relations Department at Beirut Arab University organized a photography exhibition entitled “The Elements- Mother Nature” displaying the works of Dr. Mohamed Sobhy, from the Faculty of Architectural Engineering. The event was attended by a large crowd of students, people interested in art, Prof. Dr. Amr Galal El Adawi, President of BAU, Dr. Omar Houri, BAU Secretary General, the deans, and academic staff-members.
Earth, Fire, Air and Water are elements merged with great transparency and photographic professionalism that highlight invisible aesthetic details, producing natural images. The four elements appear in these images, combining the reddish waves of fire in its various stages of burning and blazing, delving into the depths of the earth to explore the terrains, towards the flow of air and the drops of water that reflect the colors of purity.
After playing the National and BAU Anthems, Ms. Rima Chehab, introduced the event and welcoming all the guests. Prof. Dr. Amr Galal El Adawi then gave a welcoming speech, highlighting that such natural and artistic images are a form of escape from a troubled and noisy reality, into a calm and beautiful reality that inspires creativity and opens horizons, to introduce a new understanding of nature and its elements.
In turn, Dr. Mohamed Sobhy expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed towards the success of the event, pointing out that the images are a translation of his own understanding of nature and an expression of his artistic ventures into nature and its elements for the past 20 years.
After cutting the ribbon, the guests viewed the displays. The exhibition is held at Al Moltaqa, Beirut Campus, until 24th February 2016, and opens daily from 10:00 am till 5:00 pm.
