The Joint Committee between the Lebanese Order of Physicians-Tripoli and the Order of Pharmacists of Lebanon, in cooperation with Beirut Arab University -Tripoli, organized a lecture entitled: “The Role of Physicians and Pharmacists in the Health System, Problems and Solutions”, in the presence of the President of the Order of Physicians - Tripoli Dr. Mohammad Safi, and President of the Order of Pharmacists of Lebanon Dr. Joe Salloum, Director of BAU Tripoli Dr. Hani Shaarani and a crowd of Physician and pharmacists.
The lecture described the situation between reality and hope. It was a logical and realistic approach to the problems of the health system in such deteriorating economic conditions and developing possible solutions.
The lecture concluded with several recommendations that would increase the level of performance of the medical sector, which has a positive impact on the patient's service, and work with the Ministry of Public Health to find solutions to problems and overcome obstacles faced by the two orders in the light of the presence of dispensaries and primary health care centers that do not adhere to the specifications and standards stipulated by law. Another recommendation was to request from the Ministry of Public Health to cooperate with the relevant ministries to strictly observe border control in order to prevent counterfeit or smuggled medicines in markets.
