The Homecoming Event 2019 at BAU

As with every academic year, the Department of Student Activities at Beirut Arab University held its Homecoming Day in Debbieh Campus with the participation of a large number of students and professors in the presence of BAU President Prof. Amr Galal El-Adawi.

This activity aims is to acquaint BAU students with all available activities and encourage them to join sports teams as well as art and social clubs. It also promotes the spirit of competition and familiarity among students, which enhances their interaction and sense of belonging to the university.

BAU President Professor Amr Galal El-Adawi wished the students a successful and prosperous academic year and invited them to participate in university life as well as cultural and recreational activities as these refine their personalities and enhance their university spirit.

Director of Student Activities Ms. Nadine Abla thanked the students for their constant interaction with these clubs. She also presented her gratitude to BAU President for his support which springs from his belief in the importance of university life, youth spirit and the willingness of BAU Administration to help students discover their talents.

The day was marked by activities that encourage initiative, volunteer work, scout shows and entertainment competitions.

Eleven students from the different faculties at BAU competed in singing before a jury which consisted of music producer Boudy Naoum, poet Tony Abi Karam and critic Joseph Touk.

The competitors presented a number of dances and songs, and their performance was evaluated by the jury as well as student voting. Student Aya Yassine from the Faculty of Pharmacy won the prize of a special song composed by Tony Abi Karam and distributed by Boudy Naoum.

The contest concluded with student Nour Hamza from the Faculty of Medicine, who won last year’s contest, singing Habibi Meen written and composed by Salim Assaf.

The day concluded with a concert by Singer Saad Ramadan followed by DJ Adham Zein.

In the end, honorary shields were presented by the Department of Student Activities to the jury members and Saad Ramadan as a token of appreciation.
