Memorandum of Understanding between Beirut Arab University and the Central Administration of Statistics

Beirut Arab University represented by its President, Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, has signed a one-year Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Administration of Statistics represented by its Director General, Ms. Maral Gidanyan. The agreement aims to enhance academic, research, and training cooperation in the fields of statistics, data, and socio-economic studies, aligning with the national need to develop data production and its utilization in scientific research.

The signing ceremony was attended by BAU Secretary General Dr. Omar Houri, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration Professor Mohamed Abdel Azim Abou El-Naga, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration Professor Hanadi Taher, members and representatives from the Central Administration of Statistics.

The memorandum includes the following collaborative initiatives organizing joint workshops and seminars, both in-person and online, featuring experts from CAS to discuss topics related to economics, statistics, and demography. Providing BAU students with opportunities to participate in CAS awareness activities regarding the importance of statistics. Offering internships and training for final-year students from the Faculty of Business Administration at CAS, bridging the gap between academic theory and practical application. Involving the university in CAS research projects and scientific activities as part of the educational process to foster a culture of scientific research among students.

Ms. Maral Gidanyan expressed her optimism, stating"This cooperation represents a shared beginning of hope between both parties to work on documented data and information."

Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam emphasized the importance of this partnership, noting that "The significance of this MoU lies in the integration between educational institutions and public bodies. It aims to develop national statistical production and support research and studies, which are fundamental pillars of public policy."
