The Second General Conference of University Presidents in the Middle East was held at the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates on February 5 and 6. Beirut Arab University was presented its President, Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, in the presence of the President of the Francophone University Agency (AUF) Professor Salim Khalbous.
A large number of university presidents and representatives from Cyprus, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Palestine and Sudan attended the forum, to exchange ideas on strategic issues specific to scientific francophone and discuss the challenges facing higher education in the region.
The roundtable discussion "Scientific Francophone and the French Language in the Middle East", provided an opportunity to reflect on the challenges, opportunities and initiatives necessary to promote scientific Francophone and the use of French language in university curricula and scientific research.
Following this, a workshop titled "Employability, Professional Integration and Integration of Skills into University Curricula" explored ways to improve student employability by integrating skills into academic programs.
