The Faculty of Medicine at Beirut Arab University held the Hippocratic Oath ceremony for 98 male and female graduates from the final-year class, marking a prominent milestone in their journey toward practicing the medical profession. During the ceremony, the graduates took the oath, reaffirming their commitment to the profession's principles and humanitarian ethics, and pledging to provide the highest standards of healthcare to patients. This event came as the culmination of a long academic journey, as taking the medical oath is an essential step before receiving graduation certificates and officially transitioning into professional practice.
The ceremony was hosted by the Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. Salah Malas, followed by the graduates' speech delivered by students Mountaha Al Agha and Ismail Al Halabi, who expressed feelings of pride and honor regarding this significant milestone in their journey. This was followed by a speech from the sixth-year representative student Mona Dandachli, who highlighted the importance of reaching this day with a deep sense of responsibility and integrity. The event also featured a speech by the Head of the Clinical Sciences Department Professor Mohammad Mazloum, who emphasized the importance of embodying professional responsibility and upholding the humanitarian values upon which the noble mission of medicine is built.
For her part, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Professor Wafaa Al Sehly, delivered a speech in which she stated: "I urge you to let this oath be a guiding light that illuminates your path. Always keep in mind that medicine is not just a prescription or a surgical procedure; rather, it is a mission of life, a moral duty, and a humanitarian responsibility. Let your knowledge be a means to serve humanity, your ethics a role model for future generations, and your achievements proof that the physician is the backbone of society and its resilient fortress."
The ceremony concluded with the official recitation of the oath.
