Based on the concept of community service and activating the research process in accordance with BAU Strategy, the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) and Beirut Arab University signed an agreement to support and encourage scientific research. This resulted in a joint funding by the National Council for Scientific Research and BAU of 14 research projects which shed light on innovative research topics with a budget of 260,500,000 LL.

This partnership stemmed from the agreement of cooperation previously signed between BAU and CNRS which stipulates both parties to jointly finance scientific projects presented by academic staff members at the Beirut Arab University for two years provided that these projects be chosen on the basis of the decision of joint committees from both parties.

The research grant contracts were distributed to the Academic Staff members and the signing of the partnership agreement was held during a ceremony at Beirut Campus in the presence of BAU President Professor Amr Galal El-Adawi, Secretary General of the National Council for Scientific Research Dr. Moeen Hamzah, Dean of Graduate Studies and Research at BAU Professor Hania Al-Nakkash and Faculty Deans.
