BAU Launched a free campaign for Medical Examination and Dental Consultation

Based on Beirut Arab University strategy and in application to its policy of openness to its surroundings and serving the community, the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University launched the campaign of "Free Medical Examination and Dental Consultation", in Mina Municipality - Tripoli, in cooperation with the Lebanese Order of Physicians Tripoli and the Lebanese Dental Association Tripoli, and the Municipality of Mina – Tripoli.
 
The campaign provided free medical services for more than 280 citizens. More than 100 volunteers who are doctors, university professors, administrators and students participated in the campaign. Beirut Arab University President, Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, Secretary of the North Governor and Chargé d 'affaires of the Municipality of Mina -Tripoli, Ms. Iman El Rafei, President of the Lebanese Order of Physicians Dr. Mohammed Safi, Representative of Lebanese Dental Association Tripoli, Dr. Karim Kabbara, Head of Health Department at Mina Municipality Dr. Zaher Orabi, Head of Health Department in the North Dr. Saadallah Sabouneh, Director of BAU Tripoli branch Dr. Hani Shaarani, Deans of the organizing faculties, a crowd of medical orders and administrators in Mina municipality.
 
The President of Beirut Arab University, Prof. Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, noted that it is "the first time the university carries out similar campaigns where it decided to launch these campaigns in Tripoli because the reality requires us to serve the people in the community where the university is present.
 
Abdel Salam added that the University has utilized its services to serve the citizens who are present in the North, based on its role under the title "Community service" of Beirut Arab University community.
 
Furthermore, the Mayor of Mina-Tripoli, Ms. Iman El Rafei, praised the efforts of all those who had contributed to the success of the event. She emphasized that the campaign aimed to raise the level of health awareness in society and to serve the people of Tripoli and the North in the difficult economic and medical conditions they were experiencing. As well, El Rafei wished to do similar activities soon.
 
The campaign included several services, such as family medicine, pediatrics, general consultations and blood sugar screening, as well as a dental consultation, in addition to raising public awareness about proper nutrition.
