Razan Moghrabi, together with seven of the Star Academy stars, “Mira Mickhael”, “Maya Nehme”, “ Tina Yamout”, “Jessica Njeim”, “Mohamad Bach”, “Mohamad Dakdouk”, and “Gilbert Simon” answered the invitation of the Students’ Activities Department to celebrate the Open Day at BAU at the beginning of the academic year on the 27th of September 2012.
Thousands of students participated in this ceremony which was attended by President Professor Amr Galal El Adawi, Vice President for Academic Affairs Professor Hanafy Holail, Secretary General Mr. Issam Houri, Faculty Deans, directors and faculty members.
In his speech, Professor El Adawi said that life at University is not only confined to getting an education, but also extended to getting acquainted with colleagues, to mixing with them and to discovering new things which help develop students’ personalities. He also announced that all faculties are now working on attaining international accreditation which will open new horizons for the fresh graduates as related to job opportunities in Lebanon and abroad.
In addition to the songs which the audience greatly enjoyed, the ceremony was characterized by a sketch by the comedian Juana Karaki, known as Um Khaled Al Sukkari, who welcomed the students in her own comic way.
The ceremony was also characterized by various sketches by the Dance Club which presented folkloric and modern shows. The Martial Arts Club presented sketches of Muay Thai and rope jumping from the top of the main building.
At the end of the ceremony, prizes were presented to the participants by the sponsors.
It is noteworthy that the Open Day has become an annual event organized by Beirut Arab University at the beginning of each academic year to introduce the new students to the University atmosphere and help develop their bond with the University.
