Early Detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer at BAU

In support of the campaign by the Lebanese Ministry of Health on the importance of the early detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer, and under the patronage of Prof. Amr Galal El Adawi, President of BAU, the Faculty of Medicine organized a campaign for the early detection of Breast and Cervical Cancer.
The campaign included a seminar on raising the health awareness in addition to a number of workshops to educate women on how to conduct a self-examination of their breasts and a detailed explanation on how to proceed in the case of the discovery of the disease. It also included a brief survey of Cervical Cancer, and the importance of conducting a screening of the cervix.
The one-week campaign was held on both Beirut and Debbieh Campuses, and visited various Lebanese areas and municipalities, including Khiam Municipality, the Italian School in Tripoli, and Al Bashaer School in Baalbeck, with the participation of medical students of various levels, led by Prof. Naglaa Mashaal, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and under the supervision of Dr. Bilal Azakir.  
This campaign is part of a series of societal initiatives organized by the Faculty of Medicine at Beirut Arab University to serve the community.
