The Media Center at Beirut Arab University organized a training course on “the Art of Debate”, presented by the trainer Malak Darwish, lawyer and executive director of the International Institute for Debate (iiDebate), and a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University. Malak combined theoretical explanations of the fundamentals of debate and its strategies with intensive practical exercises that developed the participants' dialogue and critical thinking skills. The closing ceremony also celebrated women on their special day and included an inspiring speech by the journalist, producer, and coordinator of "It's About Time” Academy for Debate, Elsy Moufarrej. Elsy emphasized the importance of negotiations, advocacy, debates, and their techniques. Additionally, certificates of participation were distributed to the trainees in the presence of Dr. Omar Houry, the Secretary-General of the University, along with a number of University directors, administrators, and those interested in the subject of debate. This training reflects the Beirut Arab University’s commitment to offering advanced training programs that meet the needs of youth and contribute to the empowerment and advancement of its community.
