The BAU Media Center organized a training program in Public Speaking for the first time at BAU Campus in Tripoli, the capital of the North. The participants included a diverse group of faculty members, students, and administrators from various fields and age groups.
The training was delivered by Mrs. Abeer Ghazal, Director of the BAU Media Center and a certified trainer in public speaking, who skillfully combined theoretical and practical components.
The training included a detailed explanation of impactful speaking strategies and effective communication techniques, along with practical exercises that helped participants overcome stage fright and enhance their public speaking skills.
In a distinctive addition, yoga trainer Mahmoud Yazbek enriched the training by offering a session on the importance of proper breathing in boosting confidence and regulating vocal performance while presenting on stage.
The training concluded with a closing ceremony attended by Professor Hani Al-Shaarani, Director of the Tripoli Campus, and journalist Ghassan Rifi, Vice President of the Editors’ Syndicate. The event was hosted by Mrs. Cherine Kassab, Public Relations Supervisor at the Tripoli Campus and one of the participants, who welcomed the audience and praised their engagement throughout the course.
Additionally, the guest speaker and media figure Mounir Al-Hafi delivered an inspiring speech about the significance of public speaking as an essential skill across all fields, highlighting personal experiences and techniques that demonstrated the power of strong stage presence in achieving influence and impact.
This was followed by a word from journalist Ghassan Rifi, who expressed his gratitude to BAU for its commitment to serving the community and enhancing the skills of its students and faculty. After that, Professor Al-Shaarani provided valuable information about public speaking and its influence on others, followed by a speech from Mrs. Ghazal, who praised the resilience of Tripoli’s people and their determination to bring life and productivity to Lebanon amidst recent challenges. Finally, trainee Sarah Murad delivered a speech on behalf of her fellow trainees, thanking the training organizers and emphasizing its importance.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the University medal to the media figure, Mounir Al-Hafi, as a token of appreciation, along with the distribution of certificates of participation to all trainees.
