The Media Center at BAU organized a 3-day training course in Mobile Journalism presented by the journalist, Haifa Banna. The course combined theoretical explanations of core mobile journalism skills, from scriptwriting to filming and editing, with practical applications that enabled participants to hone their skills and gain real-world experience; each team of trainees created a short film of their own, which was then screened, discussed, and voted on to choose the best.
Additionally, the closing ceremony, which was attended by the University’s Secretary-General Dr. Omar Houri and presented by the trainee Nevene Orfa, featured a speech by the journalist Ramez ElKadi delivered remotely from southern Lebanon where he was covering the unstable situation. This aligned with the training theme of using mobile phones for direct and interactive communication. In his speech, he shared some of his expertise in the field of Journalism. Another short speech was delivered by the director of the Media Center, Mrs. Abeer Ghazal, who emphasized the importance of the training and its goals in enhancing participants' skills and refining their abilities in mobile journalism. Finally, trainee Ayman Al Masri presented a speech on behalf of his fellow trainees, expressing their gratitude and appreciation to the University for organizing this course. He also presented a summary of the results of a survey he conducted among the participants, which collected their feedback on the training. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of the certificates of participation in the presence of the University’s Secretary-General and a number of administrative staff members.
This training reflected the Media Center's commitment to the University's mission in providing training programs that not only meet the needs of young people, but also contribute to the enhancement of their skills and the empowerment of their community.
