Beirut Arab University (BAU) actively participated in the second transnational meeting of the European project INTEXPAL ("Innovative Textile for Palestine and Lebanon"), held in Venice (Mestre), Italy, from June 30 to July 1, 2026.
BAU was officially represented at the meeting by Prof. Sobhi Abou Chahine, Dean of Academic Affairs and International Relations.Organized and hosted by EREB Consulting Company, the two-day event brought together representatives from all international partner institutions, including the University of West Attica (UNIWA)—the project coordinator—along with CRETHIDEV, Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology (HHCT), EREB SRL, the National Research and Development Institute (Romania), the Islamic University of Lebanon (IUL), An-Najah National University, and the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI).
The meeting focused on several key milestones crucial to the project's advancement:
- Workshop Results: Presenting outcomes from the specialized workshops previously conducted across Lebanon and Palestine.Progress Review: Evaluating current activities and work packages to ensure timeline alignment.
- Financial Management: Outlining administrative reporting and financial governance procedures.
- Future Planning: Coordinating strategic next steps and upcoming project activities.
The meeting concluded with highly productive outcomes, strengthening international collaboration among the partners and establishing a clear roadmap for the successful implementation of the project's next phases.
