In collaboration with Smart Municipality Academy (SMA), the Human Rights Center at BAU hosted an introductory session in preparation for the upcoming 2-day training boot camp on "Municipal Governance and Transparency".
The session brought together students from the Faculties of Law and Political Science, Human Sciences (Mass Communication Department), and Business Administration, and provided them with an overview of Smart Municipality Academy's mission and work in Lebanon, which focuses on bridging the gap between municipalities and citizens in fostering transparency, accountability, and civic engagement at the local level. It also outlined the objectives of the upcoming boot camp, which aims to enhance students' understanding of local governance systems, the legal and administrative framework of municipalities, and practical tools to promote transparency and participation.
Students interested in participating in the boot camp were invited to fill out a Google form to express their interest and receive further details.
