Abstract
Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)sensors utilizing fiber optic technology have gained allot of attention due to their various medical applications. In this paper, we present the theoretical background, recent medical applications, principle of operation, analysis model and performance parameters of Graphene enhanced fiber optic SPR sensors. It is indicated that the geometrical and physical properties of the SPR sensor like the length and composition of sensing region and the fiber core diameter affect the performance of the SPR sensors and should be chosen carefully.
