In this tutorial, we will bring the focus to the networking research trends. More specifically, we will shed the light to the 4 G networks, Wireless Local Area Networks 802.11p, WiMAX Networks. We will identify the importance of voice over IP networks, highlight the architecture of IP UMTS networks and describe the VoIP signalling protocols: SIP, H323, MEGACO protocols. We will describe as well the architecture and protocols of Intelligent networks.
