A statistical definition of temperature. The Boltzmann distribution and the partition function. Calculation of thermodynamic functions. A Spin-1/2 solid. Localized harmonic oscillators. The density of states. Fermions and bosons. Counting microstates for gases and the three distributions. Maxwell–Boltzmann gases. Diatomic gases. Fermi–Dirac gases. Bose–Einstein gases.
