Pharmacy - Course - Cosme-Pharmaceuticals

The course aims at providing the students with strong background of the function and behavior of skin, hair and nails with special emphasis on their response to environmental, physiological and aging factors. Dermatological reactions of skin, hair and nails to cosmetic raw materials and formulations are also addressed. Functions, properties, stability, and possible side effects of active and inactive cosmetic ingredients and formulations, in addition to cosmetic regulations, product safety and manufacturing are illustrated. The manufacture of cosmetic products, with therapeutic focus, as well as their quality control prospective are clarified. Pre-requisite: PHAR 361
