The course covers the following topics: thoracic cage, anatomy of the heart and great vessels, anatomy of the lung and pleura, subdivisions of the mediastinum and their contents, gametogenesis, fertilization, cleavage, implantation and menstrual cycle, second weeks of development, gastrulation, third to eighth weeks and differentiation of the three germ layers, fetal membranes and placentation, multiple pregnancy, and birth defects and prenatal diagnosis.
