Human-Sciences - Course - Natural Science Concepts for Elementary School

This course aims to equip student teachers with a strong foundation in natural science concepts suitable for elementary education. It is based on NGSS perspectives about the nature of science and the fundamentals for science education. It addresses both the concepts and practices related to natural science. Student teachers will explore how science is a way of knowledge and a human endeavor, how approach scientific investigations using a variety of methods, how to look for scientific knowledge based on empirical evidence, how to revise scientific knowledge in light of new evidence, how science models and theories explain natural phenomena, the order and consistency in natural systems, and how science addresses questions about the natural and material world.
