Course Description

This course aims to develop fundamental map reading skills that are essential for teaching geography and social studies to children. Student teachers will be trained, through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical activities, the key components of maps, including legends, scales, symbols, and coordinates, explore different types of maps and their purposes, enabling teachers to select appropriate maps for specific lessons and activities, and engage in practical exercises such as map-making, interpreting real-world maps, and using maps in classroom settings to develop children’s spatial reasoning skills and help them understand and visualize relationships between different geographic features.
