Course Description
This course aims to equip student teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to foster children’s understanding of cultural identity, history, and the contributions of diverse communities. They will examine the concept of heritage and its significance in shaping individual and collective identities from local, national, and global perspectives. They will be introduced to the knowledge, appreciation and preservation of heritage, which can be tangible, such as monuments, works of art, archaeological artifacts, among others, or intangible, such as traditions, dances, and popular festivals. Emphasis will be put on Lebanese heritage: culture, history, geography, architecture, traditions, festivals, folklore, music, language, cuisine and much more.
