Course Description
This course provides an in-depth examination of Arabic language school textbooks through the lens of contextual analysis. It aims to equip student teachers with the skills to critically assess the content, structure, and pedagogical implications of Arabic language textbooks used in K-1 to K-6 education. They will explore how these textbooks reflect and shape educational practices, cultural values, and societal norms by analyzing how they represent diverse cultures, perspectives, and social issues. They will examine the textual content, visual elements, and pedagogical strategies within, and evaluate them for inclusivity and representation.
