Course Description
This course focuses on the response of critically ill patients to actual or potential life threatening conditions. It provides students with the necessary in-depth knowledge and understanding of nursing and medical management of patients with acute and/or multi -systems failures as well as the theoretical base of the critical and technical skills required for practice. It also explores the interrelationship of the three dimensions of the critical care nursing practice and examines the theoretical basis and nursing process for alterations in human functioning as consequences of critical illness and care.
