Course Description

This course involves advanced concepts in normal and abnormal applied hematology and blood science. Emphasis is placed on the study of the formed elements of blood, precursors in the bone marrow, chemical constituents of plasma and serum linked to blood cell structure and function, and function of platelets and blood proteins. Fluid cellular analysis and its implications in hematology are also discussed. In addition, the course examines the molecular diagnostic tools and microscopy aided applications used in hematology laboratory.
