Course Description
This course covers the basic formation evaluation concepts, borehole environment, principles of resistivity, radiation, and elastic wave measurements and measuring tools. It also includes methods of identifying the lithology using cross plots, saturation, irreducible saturation, permeability studies from well logs, shale sand analysis, complex reservoir analysis. The covered tools can help identify the location and thickness of hydrocarbons and the oil water contacts. The course also includes different methods for cementing quality monitoring. Pre-req.: GEOL206
