Periodic table and properties of the elements, nomenclature. Theories of atomic structure, atomic spectra. Theories of chemical bonding. Covalent bonding and molecular structure: molecular geometry, VSEPR theory, valence bond theory, hybrid orbital and molecular orbital theory.
